Briefly, BMT Publishers is a privately owned publishing company established in Atlanta Georgia with the aim of promoting and encouraging young African writers mainly from The Horn of Africa to engage in writing educational books in the vernacular and/or in the English language – material that can be used in the school system of the region. It provides a service not available to African writers through mainline publishers in Europe and The United States because this kind of limited service, specifically targeting a geographic region, would not be profitable to them. It is a pioneering work which aims to uplift the standard of education in the region by providing books written by Africans for Africa.
